Artificial Intelligence: The Good, the Bad, and the Unknown

I just watched this super informative (read: long and kind of boring) interview with Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI. But, since I love all things AI, I felt it was my duty to share some of the highlights with you.

So, according to Altman, AI is going to be the next big thing. It's like the iPhone of the 2010s, but instead of carrying around a sleek device that allows us to ignore people in public, we'll have access to on-demand intelligence that is apparently faster and cheaper than hiring a human. Don't worry though, there will still be jobs that require a human touch or are simply more valuable when done by a human. Phew, that's a relief.

Altman thinks that AI will continue to improve and make us more efficient, eventually becoming proficient at entire tasks. But don't get too excited, they also believe there will be limitations and bottlenecks in the future. However, they remain hopeful that progress will continue to be made as research is conducted.

Altman also believes that the impact of AI is currently underestimated and that if the pace of scientific discovery increases significantly, it will have major consequences for society. So, basically, things could get really weird really fast. They suggest that we should give more consideration to non-consensus ideas with high probability, such as AI significantly increasing the pace of scientific discovery.

Altman thinks society needs to adapt to the increasing rate of technological change by reconsidering how wealth is shared, rethinking how access to resources like artificial general intelligence is granted, and improving governance to make global agreements on values and rules. Oh, and capitalism may also need to be reevaluated as AGI threatens to disrupt the global equilibrium. Fun stuff!

Lastly, Altman believes that AGI will bring significant benefits, but also warns of the potential dangers of not considering the societal impacts of such rapid change. So, basically, AI is both amazing and terrifying. Sounds about right. You can watch the full interview HERE

A Look Into the Future of Search Engines

I wanted to share an exciting new search tool that has completely changed the way I search for information online.

It's called Perplexity Ask and it's powered by large language models like the OpenAI API. Not only does it provide quick and explanatory results for my queries, but it's also become my go-to search engine instead of Google.

Perplexity Ask is different from traditional search engines because it uses AI technologies like GPT-3 to provide direct answers to questions and summaries and citations for search results. This means you can easily find the information you need without having to sift through multiple pages or irrelevant results. Plus, it includes citations which help verify the accuracy of the information and prevent you from being misled by incorrect or misleading information.

But Perplexity Ask isn't just useful for finding information. It can also provide insights and reveal interesting or unexpected results.

In addition to its search capabilities, Perplexity Ask doesn't include distracting ads, doesn't require a sign-up or login, and doesn't collect personal information. As AI continues to advance, we'll probably see even more innovative search tools like Perplexity Ask. These technologies have the potential to greatly enhance our ability to find and verify information online and shape the future of search.

All in all, Perplexity Ask is a game-changing tool that has the potential to revolutionize the way we access and evaluate information online. Its use of advanced AI technologies and inclusion of citations make it a valuable resource for finding the information you need quickly and accurately.

There are a few limitations and problems to be aware of with Perplexity Ask. The accuracy of the results is dependent on search results and the capabilities of the AI. It is also possible for the system to provide incorrect or misleading information. Additionally, Perplexity Ask may not be able to provide information on certain topics or may struggle to understand more complex or nuanced questions.

Despite these limitations, I've found Perplexity Ask to be a valuable resource and recommend giving it a try. Let me know what you think!

3 Tools For Content Creators

Descript is an audio and video editing software that offers transcription and collaboration capabilities. It allows users to edit transcripts and audio/video files in real-time and is a non-destructive editor, meaning the original file remains unchanged even after making changes. The software also integrates with other tools like Adobe Creative Cloud and the author has found it to be a valuable tool in their workflow.

Repurpose.io is a tool that allows users to easily repurpose their content for different social media platforms. It's easy to use and offers a wide variety of formatting options to customize posts for each platform. Users can schedule posts in advance and choose from different templates to create content that looks native to each platform, which can increase engagement and reach. While the pricing plans are based on the number of social media accounts and the number of posts scheduled per month, Repurpose.io can be a useful tool for saving time and reaching a wider audience with content.

SuperCreator.ai

Create short form videos 10x faster using artificial intelligence have you heard about this new app called Super Creator? It's like a video creation machine! Seriously, it uses AI to help you make short form videos like ten times faster than a human. It's like, you just input an article or blog post, and boom! It summarizes it, picks out some cool visuals, and generates options for you to mix and match for your script. And it's all broken down scene by scene, so you know exactly what to say and show. It's like the IKEA instructions of video creation. But the best part is, it fine-tunes everything before it hands it over to you to review and make any final adjustments. And once you're ready to roll, you can even record audio and use the app's editing tools to make your video look pro. Trust me, it'll blow your mind. Have you guys tried it yet?

Prompt of the Day

Quick hack on how to use Chat GPT and Midjourney to create amazing artwork.

Chat GPT prompt: can you describe _____________

Example: (Can you describe a fawn French bulldog with a black mask at the beach?)

Chat GPT will then give you a long detailed description.

Chat GPT : A fawn French bulldog with a black mask stands at the beach, the sand between its toes. Its short, muscular legs are slightly turned out, and its tail wags happily as it sniffs at the salty sea air. Its dark mask frames its round, expressive face, and its fluffy ears stand tall as it takes in its surroundings. As the waves crash onto the shore, the fawn French bulldog bounds towards the water, barking happily as it splashes in the shallows. As the sun starts to set, the fawn French bulldog trots back to its owner, ready to end its day at the beach.

Now we are going to create the magic sauce to make this make sense for Midjourney.

Prompt: Can you condense the description to only nouns and adjectives, Separated by hyphens?

Chat GPT: fawn-French bulldog-black mask-beach-short-muscular legs-tail-dark mask-round-expressive face-fluffy ears-waves-shallow water-sun-set-owner

I simply copied and pasted this into Midjourney and below are the results.

You can clean it up, add, or remove anything in the hyphen area or just do what I did and get great results.
