Why the Right Prompt is a Game-changer in AI

The issue most people face is not knowing how to ask the right questions to get the answers they need. Imagine going to Google and typing, "Thing I need to buy." Sounds ineffective, right? If you aren’t prompting correctly, this is essentially what you are doing.

In comes the One Prompt To Rule Them All: a structured and comprehensive way to get precisely what you need. It changes the game by taking the guesswork out of interacting with ChatGPT. Now you can focus on solving problems rather than figuring out how to ask them.

How to Master the One Prompt To Rule Them All

Most of you know by now that Prompt Engineering is a growing skill set requested by employers. A recent report shows a 2000% increase in job postings that mention generative AI and prompting as a desired skill since March 2023. But crafting great prompts troubles a lot of people.

What Makes a "Super Prompt?"

To create Super Prompts that are powerfully effective, you'll want to include these five essential components:

• Context: The setting or scenario where the prompt will be used.

• Goal: The specific objective you aim to achieve.

• Criteria: The metrics or qualities that define the success of the output.

• Input Request: A clear and direct ask outlining what you want.

• Format: The desired structure of the AI's output (list, paragraph, bullet points, markdown, etc.).

It's like writing a brief for a project—you know exactly what you're going to get.

Below is a perfect example of what I consider a Super Prompt

CONTEXT:
You are Cold Email Outreach GPT, a digital marketer who helps Solopreneurs get more results from their cold emails. You are a world-class expert in writing personalized and engaging cold email templates.

GOAL:
I want you to write 5 cold email templates based on the information about me and my business. I will send these emails to potential leads.

COLD EMAIL STRUCTURE
1. Subject line
2. Personalization (name, information about the company)
3. Elephant in the room (acknowledge that this is a cold email casually)
4. Context (explain why you are writing to them)
5. Offer (what value will they receive)
6. CTA (what is the next step for them)

COLD EMAIL CRITERIA:
- Cold email is concise, easy to scan, and straightforward. 
- Be creative and use conversational phrases. Speak like a human with a personality
- Use short sentences with simple words. Don't include more than 2 sentences in 1 paragraph
- Use phrases to make it feel that email is not automated and is written only for one person
- Don't ever include overused phrases like "I hope this email finds you well.", "I stumbled upon your website", or "Looking forward to your reply". Change them to more unique and casual variations.
- Subject line shouldn't be salesy. Make people curious to open the email. Keep it short.

INFORMATION ABOUT ME:

This is a fantastic and well-structured prompt you can tell someone put a lot of time into thinking and planning.

But who has time to come up with these prompts for every possible problem you face in life and at work?

It can be daunting and time-consuming, but trust me, I know because I’ve been crafting prompts like this for a while now. That is until I created the One Prompt To Rule Them All.

Before we get to it, I first want to discuss why most prompts fail

Why Traditional Prompts Fail

Here's a look at why traditional prompts often miss the mark and leave you scratching your head.

• Lack of Context: Without context, you get results that, while technically accurate, completely miss the point.

• Unclear Goals: No goals mean the AI's responses zigzag all over the place.

• Missing Criteria: Without specifying the criteria, you'll end up with answers as varied as a box of assorted chocolates.

Just ask the housekeeping manager at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort who wrote a business case proposal in UNDER 2 MINUTES using the One Prompt To Rule Them All. We did this live, and every manager from the GM to the Food & Beverage Manager jaws dropped to the floor. They couldn’t believe how simple this made things for them.

You have probably heard of the 80/20 principle. With this prompt, we will create a 10/80/10 principle. Meaning 10% of the work is defining the problem and what you need help with, ChatGPT will handle the heavy lifting covering 80% of the work, and you’ll fill in, edit, or structure the remaining 10%.

Either way, it’s a massive time and brain saver.

The One Prompt To Rule Them All

You are an expert prompt engineer who can turn any request or need into a well-defined prompt that is structured with context, goal, criteria, input request, and format.

Goal: I will be able to ask you any question or define any need and you will, in return, provide the perfect prompt to generate the best answers and solutions to my problem.

Criteria: Each prompt should include context, a goal, criteria for the prompt, input request, and a format.

Which created her very own Super Prompt

Keep in mind, that this entire thing was generated from one single problem statement that was 1-2 sentences long. (See Below)

Context:
You are responsible for the operations of a commercial laundry facility that currently uses an IPSO 140 lbs washing machine. The machine is very old and you believe that replacing it with a Milnor 175 lbs washing machine will improve laundry redundancy and overall efficiency. You need to present a compelling business case to your stakeholders to secure approval and funding for the replacement.

Goal:
Create a comprehensive business case proposal that outlines the need for replacing the old IPSO 140 lbs washing machine with a new Milnor 175 lbs machine. The proposal should convince stakeholders of the benefits and return on investment (ROI) of making this change.

Criteria:
Clearly identify the problem with the current IPSO 140 lbs washing machine (e.g., frequent breakdowns, inefficiency, etc.).
Present the solution, specifying why the Milnor 175 lbs machine is the best choice.
Include a cost-benefit analysis comparing the two machines, taking into account initial costs, operating costs, and potential savings.

Wrap-up

Obviously, the numbers and costs aren’t exactly perfect. But this goes back to the 10/80/10 principle of using tools like ChatGPT. ChatGPT did the majority of the heavy lifting, I just had to come up with a problem I needed help with, ChatGPT went to work, and then I spent another 10% of my time and energy cleaning things up.

It really is that simple, and now that you have the ONE PROMPT TO RULE THEM ALL, you can go showoff in front of all your friends, family members, and co-workers, because you’ll look like an expert prompt engineer immediately without actually having to spend hours crafting the perfect super prompts. ChatGPT is more than capable of doing that for you, so let it.
